B Corp
Yala is proud to be the first jewellery brand in the UK to become a Certified B Corporation®
WHAT IS A B CORP?
Certified B Corporations are leaders of a global movement of businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Unlike traditional businesses, Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions not only on their shareholders, but on all their stakeholders.
We are rigorously assessed using the B Impact Assessment every three years to ensure that we maintain a high sustainable and ethical standard in the way we do business.

In a nutshell, it's a more comprehensive version of Fairtrade since it considers the whole business, not just individual products like a bag of coffee.
WHY DID YALA BECOME A B CORP?
When we first discovered B Corp back in 2013 it was via Ben & Jerry's ice cream!
There was never any question that Yala would operate ethically and sustainably so we pursued B Corp certification from the very start. B Corp reflects the values that Yala was founded on and holds us accountable for our commitment to the triple bottom line.
B Corp certification gives our customers and our stockists confidence that we are walking the talk in terms of our ethics. It differentiates us from brands who are "greenwashing".
By becoming a B Corp we are joining companies like Elvis & Kresse, Patagonia, Pukka Herbs, Ben & Jerrys, Warby Parker and almost 4,000 others worldwide in our commitment to use business as a force for good.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
We believe that profitability and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.
Social and environmental stewardship are not incompatible with the desire for financial success.
As a B Corp we are committed to treating people, communities and the environment as they should be treated: respectfully, sustainably and ethically.
B Corps inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.
