Yala Jewellery honoured with Best For The World Award from B Lab

Bristol, UK – September 4th 2019 – Yala Jewellery today announced that it has received a 2019 Best For The World Award in the Governance List from B Lab, the non-profit organisation behind B Corp.
Every year, B Lab recognises the top-performing Certified B Corporations around the world with verified B Impact Assessment scores in the top 10% of all B Corps.
This award recognises that through their business activities, Yala places in the top 10% of B Corporations globally with strong governance policies.

In a nutshell, B Corp is similar to Fairtrade, but considers the ethics of the entire company, rather than individual products like coffee or bananas.
Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider and verify the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community and on the environment.

Yala is a female-founded jewellery brand, ethically and sustainably made in Kenya by artisans working in the informal sector. The company works with over 150 artisans, including a group of women from the Maasai tribe.
Yala ensures they receive fair wages, safe and healthy work environments, and real recognition for their talent.
The Yala collection is inspired by modern Africa and features designs are informed by traditional jewellery from the various tribes and cultures from across the continent, updated with a modern twist.
